What an event!
- Our favourite trend was for the introduction of a little drama into the proceedings – not too much as to detract from the clothes, but just enough to brighten our experience of the show, and to take away some additional material to talk about
- The Kenzo show moved from the runway to outside the showroom on the Place des Victoires in Paris, where the models marched a couple of times around the central statue and then hopped onto a Kenzo branded bus. All the while, beautiful vintage Citroën DS cars drove around adding a strong sense of old school Parisian glamour
- Jean Paul Gaultier constructed a full-size boxing ring as part of his show, with two female boxers slugging it out as the models went around the ring, the surrounding walls layered with a palimpsest of colourful posters
- We are familiar with DSquared’s love of eventful settings – this season there was a Rocky Horror Picture Show theme with Tokyo Hotel providing the musical backdrop – but the use of industrial interiors and masses of models was also evident at Moncler and Giles Deacon. With such mass eventing, you couldn’t forget the show
